The lower school students didn’t want to miss out on the action of Service Learning opportunities during the summer, so what did they do? Form a camp. Barbara Royse, 3rd grade teacher, polled some students to gauge interest and the response was overwhelming! The younger age of these students couldn’t slow them down, and though they aren’t able to participate in Service Learning trips yet (like Africa, Peru and Belize), the camp is a great way to expose them to the opportunities that exist right outside their front doors!
Campers will receive an orientation about each agency, participate in activities onsite and will provide a donation. Campers will create a scrapbook of photos and journal entries about each of their experiences.
