Yesterday, the students attending Service Learning camp may have received a little glimpse of what some of the High School students are experiencing right now on their trips to Peru and Kenya. The students worked with some preschool children at Nations Ministry Center. The children are from Burundi, Congo, Iraq, Ethiopia, and Sudan. The campers brought games, books and a snack. They enjoyed quality time with the children and they left everything they brought as a donation. The children gave them big hugs and huge smiles when they left.
Day two for the students was a really neat reminder that they too can learn many of the same lessons our overseas trips provide for the older students. They might be too young to go on a Service Learning trip, but no worries, we will bring the global awareness lessons to them!
