Q: You are well-loved and well-known by the Ensworth community. How long have you been here? What brought you here in the beginning? How many Headmasters have you worked for?
A: This July, I will have been at Ensworth for twenty-eight years. I started in July of 1984. I originally came to Ensworth because I was asked to fill in for someone who was having surgery and I have been here ever since. I am pretty sure that I have worked for four headmasters throughout my time here.
Q: What is your favorite memory from your time at Ensworth?
A: Since I have been at Ensworth, I have made a lot of friends. Not only with the staff and faculty, but also the students. Sometimes students that have been gone for a while come back to visit and make a point to stop in and give me a hug. That is something that makes me really happy.
Q: Tell us what you enjoy doing on the weekends when you aren’t working?
A: I don’t do much on weekends. When I get in the mood I bake stuff and take it to school to share with everyone. I especially love to make Banana Pudding and other sweets.
Q: Besides me having the inside scoop on your love of the TV show Bachelor, tell us something that we would be surprised to know about you…
A: A couple of things that people would be surprised to know about me would be that I love to watch old movies. I love Tom Hanks, Meg Ryan, and Reese Witherspoon. I do also love watching the Bachelor and Bachelorette, as it gives me something to talk about with my friends. Another interesting fact would be that I got married to my husband Buddy when I was 16 and he was 18. We were married for 48 years and had 4 kids. My first child passed away, but I have a wonderful son and two daughters. I also have 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Q: If you could have 3 wishes, what would you wish for and why?
A: If I had three wishes, I would first wish for my son and grandson to be well. They are very sick right now. I would also wish that my health would continue to stay great. I would also wish to stay around Ensworth for a few more years to bug you guys!
