Have you ever wondered what happens on those days when your students are out of school but the teachers are not? Well, here is your inside scoop! Those days are called In-Service days, and are professional development days for the faculty. A time to come together, share ideas, and learn from other people you work with. This past Friday, was a very special In-Service day for the Ensworth faculty with a special presentation from New York Times Best Selling Author and world-renowned speaker Sir Ken Robinson.
Sir Ken Robinson is the author of a number of books including The Element, which was the topic of his talk on Friday. Ensworth faculty, and other education professionals from around the Nashville area, laughed their way through a presentation on what it means to truly be in your element. “The element is the point at which natural talent meets personal passion. When people arrive at the element, they feel most themselves and most inspired and achieve at their highest levels.” (Sir Ken Robinson’s website) Though various personal stories, Sir Ken challenged us to realize our unique talents and passions and put them to use in our daily lives.
