“From the remarkable reign of the young King Tutankhamen to the lost queen Hatshepsut, Ensworth’s sixth grade students hand crafted individual projects to relive the culture and traditions of Ancient Egypt. The activity was designed for the students to gain a more tangible perspective of this exceptional civilization and how their ingenuity helped shape the world that we live in.” – Mr. Hopkins- History Teacher
Mr. Hopkins had each student choose a topic relating to Ancient Egypt, answer some questions about that topic, and create a replica. The topics varied from hieroglyphics, pyramids, and the Nile River to camels and the mummification process.
Once the students had their projects completed, they did a short presentation to their classmates about what they had learned and how they made their replica. The students definitely got creative in their efforts with projects like a camel cake, a sugar cube pyramid, and a blue jello Nile River!
