Homecoming Week Summary
This week has been an exciting Homecoming Week at Ensworth High School. Competitive games and other festivities are leading up to Friday night’s game vs. Montgomery Bell Academy and the homecoming dance on Saturday.
An Ensworth themed jeopardy game was held during assembly on Tuesday October 2. The game featured questions about alumni, teachers, and school facts. The game was played with Ensworth’s four houses competing against each other. The winning house won points to help them in the yearlong competition among the houses. Alumni performances were also spotlighted during the assembly. Jesse Parker (‘09) and Danielle Hollis (‘09) played piano and sang, and professional dancer Zach Walker (‘07) exhibited a dance for the students.
On Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons, EHS girls played in the annual powderpuff football tournament. The exciting games resulted in the houses of Truth and Vitality playing for the championship Thursday, with Truth maintaining their title as champions. The games’ star players included fan favorite Anne Douglass ‘Doug the Thug’ Dingess (’13), Blaire Smith (’13), Lauren Elcan (’13), Ashley Slay (’14), and Carson Pittman (’15).
Homecoming Week’s last competition was all four houses’ members wearing their house t-shirts for house points. The football game against MBA is at 7:00 PM on Friday, and the Homecoming Dance is on Saturday at 8:00 PM.
