We are excited to announce that we will now be collaborating with the student writers for the Ensider, Ensworth’s high school news paper! At least once a week, a student writer will keep you up to date on different activities that are taking place at the high school. They will also be sending out tweets and contributing to the Ensworth facebook page! With Spirit week starting next week at the high school, we thought it was the perfect time to get them started!
Spirit Week Preview
By William Johnson, Class of 2014
Every year, Ensworth students partake in Spirit Week. Spirit Week consists of various competitions between Ensworth’s four houses: Integrity, Truth, Vitality, and Morality. Points are tallied, and at the end of the week a winner is announced. House competitions this year include powder puff football, Mr. Morgan Says, house float designs, and an egg toss, just to name a few. Perhaps the most prominent event of Spirit Week is Merge. Merge is a game in which students receive a card with another student’s name and attempt to “Merge” or tag that person. One can avoid being merged by staying in a group of at least three people at all times during school hours outside of a classroom. Once students have been merged, they must give up the card with the name of the person that the student was attempting to merge. The game continues until there is a single winner, and that person earns major points for their house.
Stayed tuned for more fun details coming from Spirit Week next week.
