Ensworth students are helping to make local families holiday’s a little brighter this year! The 6th grade conducted their annual can food drive on the Red Gables campus. This year, the Red Gables community collected 3,417 lbs. of food! This is equivalent to 2,669 meals. In addition, the 6th grade sorted over 3,000 lbs. of food and made 1200 backpacks for hungry children who take them home on weekends as part of the Second Harvest Backpack program. This is enough to feed 600 kids for a week without food.
In addition, EHS students, working through their advisories, collected more than 750 toys for Nashville area children. The toys were distributed to Youth Encouragement Services, Westwood Elementary (Fairview), and the Robertson County elementary schools associated with Kids Academy. Some groups shopped together after school – altogether a great bonding experience for all the EHS Tigers.
