Service Learning camp definitely ended on a high note with a visit to Love At First Sight, a Puppy and Kitten Adoption Center founded for the purpose of adopting healthy kittens and puppies to responsible pet owners, placing emphasis on owner education and prevention of pet overpopulation.
The campers rotated through 3 stations. They had time to cuddle with dogs and cats, bathe a dog, and clean a cage using a power sprayer. They donated items for the dogs and cats including treats, collars, and toys. They also learned a lot about pet care. In the end, all the campers took heart to what they had learned and wanted to bring home a pet of their own, but luckily they made it out the door without any new pets.
