It truly was Love at First Sight for the 1st graders on Tuesday as 2 of the 4 1st grade classes visited Love at First Sight! puppy and kitten adoption center. The remaining 2 classes will visit on Thursday. The 1st grade has been collecting pet toys and products for care packages that the adoption center sends home with their adoptive families. The students visited the center where they learned about the basics of pet care as well as the importance of being kind to your animals. The students were introduced to a number of adoptable pets and taught the necessity of being gentle with these animals as they were all babies, the importance of good hygiene when touching the animals, and proper handling techniques. (In this case, parent only holding!) The 1st graders learned the names of all the puppies and kittens, their personality types, and whether they had siblings that could also be adopted.
