Battle of the Bots!(Tiger Topic, Robots)

Ensworth science teacher Keith Crowe is the master mind behind the newest club for 3rd-7th graders at the Red Gables campus. Every Wednesday from 3-4:30 p.m. the students meet to design, build and program robots.  The robotics club is an extension of what many of the students are learning in their daily science classes. The students have to use sequential learning to build their robots. This involves two elements, design and program. The students design their own robots structurally and then use a Lego software on their computers to program them.

Crowe says the great thing about Robotics Club is that students can be at any skill level and still participate. The programs can be customized to the individuals needs and skill levels so more advance students can keep moving forward on different competition level programs, while other students can just get their feet wet learning to design and program.
